Zach Ortwine is a NADCA-certified ASCS and CVI with a strong focus on advancing industry relationships between duct cleaners and HVAC professionals through field research, industry training and educational development, and increasing HVAC industry awareness about hvac system performance improvement options that NADCA duct cleaners achieve through duct cleaning and fiberglass surface restoration service solutions.

He is an active contributor to NADCA, serving on the Scientific Committee, Fall Tech Committee, Editorial Subcommittee for NADCAs HVAC Hygiene Journal, as well as previously participating in NADCAs Leadership Committee.  He has been a previous speaker for NADCAs Fall Technical Conference for the past four years, and continues to educate both new and experienced professionals.

Zach’s technical expertise extends beyond his NADCA training and certifications.  He is also certified in Duct System Optimization, Residential HVAC System Performance, and Residential Air Balancing through the National Comfort Institute (NCI). 

In 2024, Zach was awarded the NCI Contractor of the Year for small business, recognizing his expertise in HVAC System Performance, Airflow Diagnostics, and Duct System Renovations.  He was also featured in an ACHR News article written by NCI’s David Richardson titled ‘Are Duct Cleaners The New Wave Of Duct Renovators?’ which highlights his first duct renovation project to increase the HVAC system performance and airflow delivery rates in his personal residence.

Bryan Orr of the HVAC School online training platforms recently hosted Zach as a guest speaker during the 2025 HVAC School Symposium event where he educated HVAC professionals on duct cleaning industry best practices.  Zach and Bryan Orr continue to collaborate on developing duct cleaning video content for future releases through HVAC School’s online platforms. 

After the NADCA Annual Conference Zach will continue spreading the gospel of NADCA and the 2021 ACR Standard in planned future podcast sessions with Ty Branaman of Love2HVAC, and Craig Migliaccio of AC Service Tech LLC.
